Slipping through the electronic security and armed surveillance at the Torrence Aerospace plant, James Kimball (RENE AUBERJONOIS), well-known in black market circles as an ace intercorporate thief, finds his way to the plant's research and development lab. Once inside, he finds his quarry...three rough-hewn but lens like crystals about the size of half-collars. Suddenly an alarm goes off. Kimball's detail of the security system obviously omitted a crucial sensing device.

Kimball realizes that he cannot be caught, especially with the crystals in his possession. He hears security guards racing toward the lab so he dashes to the shipping and receiving areas. There he finds a large shipping crate addressed to Sylvester Crogan...Los Angeles Le Baron Hotel c/o Space Questicon. He stashes the crystals in a pedestal and shuts the crate. Kimball slips away unnoticed.

Steve Trevor (LYLE WAGGONER) receives a frantic phone call from the security chief at Torrence Aerospace. When Steve hears that it is the lab's Collimating Crystals, crystals designed to concentrate a laser beam, he immediately dispatches Diana Prince (LYNDA CARTER) to the Southern California based plant. The crystals, he understands, are used in the NASA space program to assist in measuring great distances, "But in the wrong hands," he explains, "they make small tactical laser weapons not only possible, but practical."

Diana arrives in Los Angeles and arrives at the Le Baron Hotel, where she will be staying. Much to her dismay, she quickly sees that the hotel is the sight of the space Questicon and that the place is filled with science fiction freaks. She makes her way through the crush of people to the desk clerk who explains that Paragon Studios is promoting the convention right on their nearby studio lot because it ties-in directly to their popular series "Space Quest," which they are bringing back. The hotel lobby is packed with people in various costumes from the many science fiction shows and movies.

Simon Rohan (PAUL LAWRENCE SMITH) a trader in stolen technology and his thug, Mr. Munn (GEORGE CHEUNG), encounter Kimball on a jogging path. Rohan is anxious about the crystals. Kimball assures him that they will be delivered on time. Sylvester Crogan (STEPHEN ANDERSON), the college-aged son of Dr. Crogan, runs into Diana in the hotel lobby. He and Diana have met before and "Sly" has quite a crush on her. "Sly" tells her that the Torrence Lab has lent him their moonrock collection to use in his exhibit at the Questicon.

The pressure is on Kimball as the day wears on. Diana has already seen pictures of him in her dossier of suspects and she spots him immediately when he steps into the hotel. She quickly whirls into Wonder Woman and chases him up to a roof. There he manages to escape by dropping a heavy object off the high perch. Wonder Woman, realizing that saving the lives of the people on the street below is more important than catching Kimball, leaps off the parapet and hurtles toward the ground, getting there just in time to catch the falling object. Diana returns to the convention hall where Sylvester shows her around. Kimball now arrives and asks for Sylvester Crogan. When he sees that he is with Diana Prince, he makes a quick exit.

At the Le Baron Hotel, Kimball cons his way into the Black Avenger's room, where he steals the Avenger costume from the actor (KEN WILSON). Munn now enters the room in his desperate search for Kimball, but Kimball is back at the convention. Diana finds Kimball, now dressed as the Black Avenger. Diana excuses herself whirls into Wonder Woman, rejoins Kimball to search for the crystal. Meanwhile, Rohan and Munn have found Sylvester, but his quick thinking leads them all to a storeroom. Once inside, he turns out the light and locks the door. "Sly" finds Wonder Woman, now in the midst of quite a melee, as she and Kimball go after a scepter, carried by an actor as part of his costume, which has the crystals mounted on top. Diana seizes the scepter but in the confusion, Kimball gets away.

The building is now sealed off by police, so Kimball resorts to another costume, this time as a robot. By answering questions incorrectly, he gives himself away as an imposter to the young fans. Diana is within earshot and quickly collars her man.
